Asachild,ChristopheMontenezwantedtobeatennisplayer,writerandactor.Attheageof17,heenrolledattheToulouseConservatorywherehefollowedFrancisAzéma’scourses,whilealsostudyingmodernliteratureatuniversity.AttheThéâtreduPavé-Toulouse,hisprofessordirectedhiminAntigonebyJeanAnouilh,AntigonebySophocles,BérénicebyRacine,DomJuanbyMolièreandVisits(Visites)andLilac(Violet)byJonFosse.In2010,hebeganathree-yearcourseattheÉcoleduThéâtrenationaldeBordeaux-Aquitaine.InJune2012,heplayedPoucet,afreeinterpretationofCharlesPerrault’sPetitPoucet,whichhewroteandco-directedwithManuelSeveri.In2013,heplayed,underthedirectionofYannJoëlCollin,inMachineFeydeau,amontageofFeydeau’splaysattheCartoucherieinVincennes.Thesameyear,GiloneBrunandEmmanuelDarleydirecthimasElvisPresley,inatheatricalreadingofDarley’sownPolyptiqueE.PattheThéâtre71.In2014,GalinStoevdirectedhiminFerencMolnár'sLiliomstagedattheLiègeThéâtre,whilelaterthatyearinMayhewaspartofPrinces,afreeinterpretationofDostoyevsky’sIdiotstagedattheThéâtreduPavé-ToulousebyLesBâtardsDorés,acollectivewhichheco-founded.In2016,LesBâtardsDorésreturnedwithMéduse,whichwonboththeaudienceandthejuryawardsatthe2017FestivalImpatience.

ChristopheMontenezwasadmittedintotheComédie-Françaiseaspensionnaireonthe8thofJuly2014.HisfirstrolewithintheCompanywasinMolière’sTartuffebyGalinStoev.Thesameyear,heplayedBOBininEugèneLabiche’sTheItalianStrawHat(UnChapeaudepailled’Italie)directedbyGiorgioBarberioCorsetti.In2015,hewaspartofL’AutrewrittenanddirectedbyFrançoiseGillardandClaireRichard.HeplayedMaffioOrsiniinVictorHugo’sLucreziaBorgiabyDenisPodalydès,andAlKooperinGreilMarcus’sLikeaRollingStone(Commeunepierrequi…)adaptedanddirectedbyMarieRémondandSébastienPouderoux.HealsoplayedinMolière’sMisanthropestagedbyClémentHervieu-LégerandinGoldoni’sTheBoors(LesRustres)directedbyJean-LouisBenoit.In2016,hewasNikitaIvanitchinChekhov’sSwanSong,TheBear(LeChantducygne,L’Ours)asdirectedbyMaëllePoésy.IvovanHoveselectedhimtoplayMartinvonEssenbeckinhisadaptationofLuchinoVisconti’sTheDamned(LesDamnés),aroleforwhichhewasnominatedforaMolièreAwardforBestMaleNewcomer.In2017,hejoinedothersinrecitingRichardStrauss’sAnAlpineSymphony(UneSymphoniealpestre,hymneàlanature)andMendelssohn’sAMidsummerNight’sDream(Songed’unenuitd’été),attheParisPhilharmonicOrchestra.In2018,ChristopheMontenezplayedArielinShakespeare’sTempeststagedbyRobertCarsenandMoritzStiefelinFrankWedekind’sSpringAwakeningbyClémentHervieu-Léger.

Besidesplayingintwoshortfilms,ErwanLeDuc’sLeSoldatviergeandVadimAlsayed'sLeRefuge,ChristopheMontenezalsofeaturedinLaurentTirard’sReturnoftheHero(LeRetourduHéros)whichwasreleasedinFebruary2018.
